Team SX83 Takes P1 and P2 Victory at Round 4 China GT Shanghai, on a Weekend Defined by Courage

Round 4, 2026 Xiaomi China GT Championship, Shanghai International Circuit, 5–6 September 2026

Team SX83 left Shanghai with second place in Race 1 and victory in Race 2 in the GT3 AM class. Jimmy Su (Su Yen-ming) and Jackson Chuang shared the #26 Audi R8 LMS Evo II, and the result settles unfinished business from the season opener at this same circuit in April. There, the pair were leading their class in Race 2 and running fourth overall when an electronic failure after the pit stop ended their race. This time, the car and crew delivered across both races.

Race 1: A Podium on a Day That Became About More Than Racing

Saturday's race was interrupted on lap 7 by a serious incident. Two cars went off while fighting for position and struck the #91 FIST Team AAI Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, which caught fire with Ollie Millroy still in the cockpit.

The hero of the day was Loek Hartog of Phantom Global Racing. The Dutch driver stopped his #79 Porsche and ran to the burning Ferrari. He fought the flames with a fire extinguisher and pulled Millroy from the car in under a minute. Hartog gave up his own race without a second thought, and his actions earned the respect of the entire paddock. Team SX83 sends its best wishes to Ollie Millroy and FIST Team AAI.

When racing resumed, Su and Chuang kept the #26 Audi clean and consistent in a competitive AM field. They brought it home second in class to open the weekend with a podium.

Race 2: Victory

On Sunday, Su and Chuang built on Saturday's result. They ran a strong race and executed a clean pit stop, then took the chequered flag first in the AM class. After April's disappointment on the same circuit, the win was a fitting reward for the drivers and the whole crew, and it gives the team strong momentum heading into the final round.

The championship concludes at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on 7–8 November, where Team SX83 will aim to close the season on a high.
