From heaven to hell — sometimes it takes nothing more than a single pit stop. That was the story of Race 2 in Shanghai, and as hard as it is to accept, we gave everything we had.
The opening stint was nothing short of perfect. We led from the front, commanding the race with consistency and control — P1 in class and P4 overall. That rhythm on track, when everything flows and the car responds exactly as you need it to, is the purest form of racing joy.
But fortune had other plans for us today.
At the driver change, the car suffered a sudden electrical failure. It simply would not restart. In that instant — watching the car sit motionless in pit lane while the field streamed past — all the late nights, the preparation, the investment, and the pressure of competition collapsed into a single, silent moment of disbelief.
A generator failure after the driver swap. That was all it took for a likely podium to slip through our fingers.
We retired from the race. It's a brutal sentence to write — and an even harder one to live in the moment. The trophy we had within reach was gone.
This is racing. It is brutal, relentless, and unforgiving. But that is also precisely why it is so captivating. Until the chequered flag falls, you never know what answer the race will give you.
A huge thank you to co-driver Jackson and the entire team for their unwavering support throughout the weekend. The effort from every single person in the garage was immense, and that commitment does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
Shanghai was the opening round of this season — not the final chapter. Following the race, the team conducted a thorough teardown of the GT3, running the most comprehensive inspection possible to understand the failure and ensure it cannot happen again.
We leave Shanghai with frustration but also with resolve. The disappointment stays here. The lessons come with us.
Round 2. Ningbo. We'll be back stronger.
