TEAM SX83所參加的雪邦1000公里耐久賽（Sepang 1000KM Endurance Race，簡稱S1K）是一項在馬來西亞雪邦國際賽道（Sepang International Circuit）舉行的耐久賽賽事。該比賽於2009年首次舉辦，為地區車手和車隊提供一個展示耐力和技術的舞台，並成為亞洲地區耐久賽車運動的重要盛事，而我們這次也以HONDA FIT,SUZUKI SWIFT這兩款車參與這次的比賽
The Sepang 1000KM Endurance Race (S1K), in which Team SX83 participates, is an endurance racing event held at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. First established in 2009, the race provides a platform for regional drivers and teams to showcase their endurance and technical skills. It has become a significant event in Asia's endurance motorsports scene. For this race, we are competing with the Honda Fit and Suzuki Swift.
Distance and Race Format
The race covers a distance of 1000 kilometres, with participating teams required to complete approximately 181 laps (depending on the track length). The event typically lasts around 8 to 9 hours, challenging the physical endurance, strategic planning, and mechanical reliability of both drivers and teams.
Participating Vehicles
The S1K primarily focuses on small touring cars, with most eligible vehicles being production models with engine capacities ranging from 1.6 to 2.0 litres. Examples include the Honda Fit, Suzuki Swift, and Toyota Vios, which are moderately modified to meet the demands of endurance racing.
Participants
The race attracts both professional and amateur drivers, with teams from Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and other Asian countries taking part. This showcases the diversity of motorsport culture in the region.
Strategy and Challenges
Teams must develop precise plans for refuelling, tyre changes, and driver swaps during the race. They also face challenges such as sudden tropical rain during the wet season and fluctuating track conditions.
Historical Significance
The Sepang 1000KM Endurance Race is regarded as an important platform for nurturing drivers and technical teams, particularly for those aiming to compete in international endurance events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans or the Asian Le Mans Series. The race offers invaluable experience and has also contributed to the growth of regional motorsport culture, attracting increased attention and participation in the sport. 如同過往參與S1K，此次我們依舊需要面對馬來西亞的當地名產「午後雷陣雨」，在週五的練習、週六的排位賽及週日正賽皆面對到不同等級的雨勢攪局，特別是週六排位賽，突如其來的雷暴雨在瞬間淹沒賽道，由於場上車輛非常多，無法在第一時間離開維修區進行排位導致起跑名次大受影響。
As with previous S1K events, this year we once again faced Malaysia’s infamous “afternoon thunderstorms.” During Friday’s practice, Saturday’s qualifying, and Sunday’s main race, varying levels of rainfall disrupted the proceedings. The sudden torrential rain during Saturday’s qualifying session flooded the track, and with many cars on the circuit, we were unable to leave the pit lane in time for qualifying, significantly impacting our starting position.
週日的正賽 TEAM SX83依舊維持高水準表現，在起跑位置落後的情況依舊持續推進名次向前追擊，但耐久賽考驗的不只是車手的體能，更加考驗車輛的機械可靠性，在接近終場時車隊的FIT引擎罷工未能完賽，SWIFT也因電系故障動力大幅度下降，雖能完賽但無法取得預期中的名次。
In Sunday’s main race, Team SX83 maintained a high level of performance. Despite starting from a disadvantaged position, we consistently pushed forward in the rankings. However, endurance racing tests not only the drivers’ physical stamina but also the mechanical reliability of the vehicles. Near the end of the race, the team’s Honda Fit suffered engine failure, forcing a retirement, while the Swift experienced a significant loss of power due to electrical system issues. Although the Swift managed to finish the race, it failed to achieve the expected result.
While the outcome was not ideal, it is the unpredictability of each race that fuels our passion for motorsport. We will continue to participate in more events and introduce other races that deserve your attention.
